My First Project - Castle Assault (70%)

CASTLE ASSAULT v1.0 Beta

Players 2-6 (AI compatible, but won't be as challenging)

This is my first map that I'm making on the world editor and is going to be a large multiplayer custom game with a lot of features.

The map is large and has a huge castle in the middle of it that takes up nearly half of the map and one of the players (Human) controls this castle and has to defend against a team of upto 5 players. Although I have written 2-6 up there, 2 isn't recommended as I beleive it will be impossible to beat.

The game will offer a lot of room for strategy as the castle controller has a number of locations in the castle that are vulnerable if attacked and will cripple the whole castle. For example behind the castle that will be a little harder to defend then the front entrance, there is the players only source of gold and a castle that villagers can take the gold to, however if the castle is destroyed the player's gold source will be gone forever, as villagers on this map will only be able to build towers, so the same crippling things will happen if the barracks, workshop etc. at the center of the castle is reached. Inside the outer wall of the castle but before the inner wall are a whole lot of farms and obviously if these are destroyed, the castle controller will no longer be able to build units. Finally the winning condition is to kill the two commanders well inside the castle, which will be very hard to reach as the castle controller has a huge defencive advantage.

I will also be adding a small amount of custom content, to experiment with the idea for future projects. The Humans that control the castle get a extra unit called the sniper, which is based off the the gunner, except it has increase damage, massively increased range, higher price and slower attack speed, these are intended to be defencive units and I'll also be making an extra unit for each other race that will provide offencive bonuses.

another thing I'll include is an extra upgrade for each human tower that will greatly increase their range, this is because there are some place on the caslte where towers will be useless without extra range, but these new towers will cost extra money.

so at the moment it is 70% complete and the beta version should be done by the next time I visit these forum in say, today or tomorrow. The hardest part of this project will be ensuring that such a modified combat scenario and the extra units will be balance I'm hoping some of you will volunteer to be beta testers, if so post here and let me know. Let me know what you think of this and a overview map should be posted tonight.
