Help needed

Hey all,

Brand new here, and was wondering if anybody was interested in going in with me on a new campaign idea I have.

I am working on a campaign set in the land of Oz, as described by the author Gregory Maguire in Wicked and Son of a Witch.

The plot of the campaign is basically as follows. Oz has been torn apart by civil wars with the sudden departure of the tyrranical Wizard. The Emerald City and the greater Gillikin are under the rule of Ozma Tippiterius (the hereditary queen of Oz) who had been in hiding during the reign of the Wizard. but the farming country of Munchkinland has declared itself a republic, and the outer areas of Oz (the Quadling Territories and the Vinkus) are ever unpridictible as always. The Munchkinlanders and the Quadlings have torn apart the Yellow Brick Road, and set up blockades to keep the royalists out of their boarders. Further to that, oppressed people under the reign of the Wizard (notably the Tiktok workers who are robots run on steam and clockword [such as the Tinman] and the oppressed sentient Animals whose rights were slowly taken away under the wizard, giving them the same status as normal animals) have banded together and many parties are slowly moving towards millitant action.

Along with this political unrest comes religious turmoil, as the Unionist faith (which worships the Unnamed God) is starting to be seen as a symbol of tyrrany out of the Emerald City and Gillikus, many in Munchkinland have become followers of the Pleasure Faith (which is the worship of magic), and most of the Vinkus and Quadlings have reverted entirley back to Lurlinism, the ancient pagan traditions which pay homage to the Fairy Lurline who they believe created Oz out of the desert.

Across the Deadly Desert, the kingdom of Ev has had its own troubles. The king Evoldo has committed suicide after making peace with the Nome King, Roquat the Red. Evoldo's heir, his niece Langwidere has expansionist aims for her kingdom, and plans to create an empire out of the "desert islands" which Ev and Oz are a part of. Fliaan to the far northwest, and Quox to the far northeast are too strong and powerful to conquor from Ev, but with a stronghold in Oz, it would be possible to raise an army and expand outward.

Her uncle had sold his soul to the evil Nome Hoard, and sacrified his five daughters and sons as well as his wife to gain their support, but had lost his will to live after such a trecherous bargain. Langwidere, who makes a much crueler monarch than her uncle, plans to use her own legion, as well as the Nome hoard to invade Oz.

The plot centers around the ex-Good Witch of the North, Locasta, who left Gillikus during the facist dictatorship of the Wizard, and relocated to Qhoyre in the Quadling Country, to use her magic to help ease the suffering of the quadlings, whose land was being razed and marshlands drained once speculators from the emerald city discovered deposits of rubies under the water.

She finds herself in the Quadling villiage of Ovvels in the far south, and the city is raided and sacked by soldiers of Ev as a foothold for the Nomes, who must change the terrain of the land in order to build on it, and thus raise their armies. The Quadling country is a perfect location for this, as it is closest to Ev, and completly unmonitored by any faction of power with any real abillity to stop them.

Gregory Maguire has had a map of Oz included in his book, so it will be easy from this map to recreate terrain based on his drawing and descriptions. I would want to do some light modding for the characters such as Locasta, but essentially, the Warcraft players work just fine, with perhaps some colour changes (colour is very important in Oz- particularly when it comes to the Red tinted Quadlings and the Emerald City).



My idea for the different groups are as follows:

Quadlings - Night Elves

Emerald City / Gillikus - Hunman

Ev - Human

Nomes - Undead (with many Satyr custom units)

Munckinlanders - Human

Vinkus - Orc

and other groups are

Tiktoks - can be custom units with Golem figures

Animals - Furbolgs, Wolves Owlbears, Harpies and Yeti, as well as custom units with Horse, Sheep and Dog etc. animations

So as you can see, basic plot is not a problem. What is a problem is AI and triggers (especially cinematic). If anybody wants in on this, I am putting it out there (otherwise you may not get to see this campaign until 2050 at the rate Im going)|||I am no good at the cinimatics and crap, but, I can help you with the AI and Triggers. I think. The AI only makes it so it attacks or builds and stuff like that. I might though. Email me the file! you find my email at my profile page.
