I being a prominent fan of this cool game wish create such a game for other fans to enjoy. (Also most probably the reason being I cannot play Front Mission Online, so if you can't play, why not compromise :D!)
Front Mission introduction : For those who are not familiar with this game, you can wiki it up :3 (Though, I will type it here if requested)
My introduction :
Hello everyone! This will be the first custom map community I have joined. After having some concepts up my head, I thought it was high time I organize this project. Anyway, I will need everyone I can get or those who are interested in tagging along. I myself has no experience in creating maps. Though after playing several types of WarCraft custom maps on BNet, I roughly know what can be done and what can not. So I will only act as a concept provider rather than being the original creator. I can also act as an icon designer (Skill icons, character icons, etc) as I think my capability to use photoshop and drawing abilities is up to par. I don't need to receive credits either, I only wish to be able to play such a game.
My goal :
I wish to create a map who is much more towards realism and conceptualize it as similar to the Front Mission series as possible. (Think NotD:AM, one of the most realistic games in my opinion) Not only gameplay-wise, but graphic-wise too. From what I can see, the process will be tough and a very very long project. (Which is of course the down-side to it ;w;) Though if this project turned out into a big success, I myself will be happy since the effort and time used are not wasted. << Prefer quality more so I will nitpick on every little thing that seems not right.
The concept :
Gameplay : I'm not too sure for this part, though I was either thinking of an Open RPG based game / NotD style game ( Which means going through episodes and leveling ) / DotA style game (Though I'm not too fond of it...would seem repetitive if you ask me)
Story : Will be set somewhere in the Second Huffman War between USN and OCU. Might just pluck a random scenario in the original game itself :3
Wanzer setup : A player will be given control of 4 hero slots. Each hero slot represents a part of the Wanzer :-
Torso : Which is the head and the torso as how the Wanzer customization is in the Front Mission series originally are. The torso will have 1 inventory slot for equipping backpack add-ons like Jamming Device, Repair device or just a simple backpack for extra slots to hold extra ammunition. Skills will also be alloted depending on the backpack unit equipped. For example if the torso is equipped with a Jamming Device, the torso will be able to learn Movement interference, aiming interference, etc.
Left Arm : This hero slot would be the left arm and has 2 inventory slots. One is for Left Arm weapons and the other is for shoulder extension weapons, like missile launchers. Skills depending on weapons equipped will be alloted.
Right Arm : This hero slot would be the right arm and has 2 inventory slots. One is for Right Arm weapons and the other is for shoulder extension weapons, like missile launchers. Skills depending on weapons equipped will be alloted.
Legs : This hero slot will be the legs of the Wanzer, and being it's engine. It will have no inventory slots. The legs play an important role as it is the engine of a Wanzer. Therefore movement speed, maximum weight capacity, is all depending on the types of legs used. Legs will have a skill given, which is it's boost skill (Increase in movement speed).
I will leave my concept to only this much as I would like to see the rate of acceptance for this project. If the rate of acceptance met it's required total (Which also means that we can get it running with the number of people who are interested) I will post everything I have in mind. If not, I'll request the admin to remove it as I will survey on other forums with my concept in mind.
I will require :
Terrain designers
Story writers
Model designers (Preferably those who can use the models from the original game itself)
Scripters, those who can basically configure the map and has very very good knowledge and knowhow of the limits of the map editor. (As in what can be done and what cannot, and sorry I do not know what are they normally called XD)
Thank you for reading :3|||It seems interesting. Have you started?
