I'm think of creating a new type of map called Evolution.
Gameplay:
Each player starts out as a small animal at a random point in a huge map. By killing other animals and creeps they gain evolution points which can be spent on upgrading the animal.
Each animal is divided in to many different body parts. Head, Arms, Legs, Torso, Tail, Wings, etc.
Each body part has different upgrades which changes the appearance. So you can have a tigers body (priestess of the moon), a dreadlords wings, a lizards tail etc. all combined in one creature.
All upgrades can be made through your creature so there is no need for a base or shop.
Each creature/animal is treated like a hero so it has skillpoints that can be spent on various skills. These skills are different depending on what base animal you have selected in the beginning, or upgraded to.
I think the uniqueness, competitiveness and endless number of combinations will appeal to many players.
I haven't started working on the map yet because I need someone with some skills in cutting out different parts of models to join me in making this map. I'm on mac so I can't use the programs associated with this kind of modeling.
